Moroccan Inspired Poached Pears

 

 

These elegant Moroccan-inspired poached pears are a light and fragrant dessert, gently simmered in a spiced sugar syrup infused with Ras El Hanout and cinnamon. Simple to prepare yet beautifully refined, they make a wonderful end to a Moroccan feast. Serve warm or chilled with a spoonful of thick cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Cook time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

500ml water

150g sugar

1 tsp Amboora Ras El Hanout Spice Blend

1 tsp cinnamon

 

4 ripe pears, peeled

 

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, add all the ingredients except the pears. Gently simmer until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Place the pears in the pan and bring everything to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Once the pears are soft and the mixture is thick and syrupy, you are ready to serve. Bsaha!
